Reorder PDF pages

Sheet-fed scanners routinely produce documents back to front, and appendices have a habit of ending up before the thing they're appended to. Type the order you want and the pages are rebuilt that way. To reverse a twenty-page document entirely, enter 20-1.

Your file stays on this computer. There’s no upload button here, because there’s nowhere to send it. This tool runs inside the page you opened — like a calculator on a web page, it keeps working once it has loaded. How this works, and how to check it →

How to use it

  1. Choose your PDF file.
  2. Type the new order, for example 3,1,2. Descending ranges work too, so 10-1 reverses the first ten pages.
  3. Decide whether pages you didn't mention are kept at the end or left out, then click Reorder.

Questions

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. The whole tool is inside this page, so the work happens on your computer. There is no server to send it to. If you'd rather check than take our word for it: use the tool once, on a sample file, with the settings you want. Then turn off your wi-fi and do exactly the same thing again in that tab, without reloading. It still works, because everything it needs is already here.

How do I reverse a whole document?

Enter the last page number, a dash, then 1. For a 12-page file that's 12-1. Descending ranges are read in the order written, so the pages come out reversed.

What happens to pages I don't list?

By default they're kept, appended after the pages you named, in their original order. Switch to "Leave them out" if you only want the pages you listed — that turns this into an extract-and-reorder in one pass.

Can I use the same page twice?

No — each page appears once. Listing a page again is ignored rather than duplicating it, which keeps the result predictable when you're typing a long order.
